These labels describe one convention found in Japanese numerology, not a universal vocabulary. This site’s main calculator uses the complete-date method in the middle row.
Compare the results consistently
- Write down the digits used for day, full date and month-day calculations.
- Add each set and specify where master numbers are retained.
- Record the input and method beside each result.
Different results are not necessarily contradictory: the calculations may be using different inputs.
Soul and destiny numbers need a stated method
- Soul number can refer to a name-vowel method or, in some explanations, a birthday method.
- Destiny and expression numbers can refer to calculations from the letters of a name.
- This calculator does not ask for a name and does not calculate a name-based number.
A label does not assign a role
