What does a life path number represent?
The possible results here are 1–9, 11, 22 and 33. For 25 April 1990, all birthday digits total 30, then 3+0 gives 3. Anyone can verify that arithmetic. Connecting 3 with expression is the interpretive part of numerology.

Life path, destiny and other names
The English version calls this birthday-based value a life path number. Destiny number and expression number can instead refer to a calculation based on the letters of a name. The label alone is not enough to identify the method.
- Check whether the input is the full date, the day alone or a name.
- Check where the method retains 11, 22 and 33.
- Compare results only after matching the input and reduction rule.
The terminology guide compares birthday, month-day and name-based labels by the information they use.

- Calculate your number and check the working.
- Choose a recent situation related to its theme.
- Separate the passages that fit from those that do not.
- Try one small action and reflect on what actually happened.
Two people with 3 may prefer very different forms of expression: speaking in a group or writing alone, for example. A number can provide a shared topic without making their personalities identical.
When another system also uses the word destiny
Different divination systems and authors may use similar labels while relying on lookup tables or other cycles. This calculator implements the full-date digit-sum method described here. A shared name does not make the systems interchangeable.
The number does not establish future events or abilities. Compatibility and work examples are prompts for discussing preferences and circumstances, rather than a basis for assessing a person.
